• The e-mail has my address – but in the inbox it says it’s from Word Press instead of me!!!!! And then has the right subject.

    Once you open it my e-mail address is there as from but in the inbox having it say Word Press – is just strange

    I tried all the settings every which way to get it to have my name & it won’t work.

    Where to I change “Word Press” to my name????????

    Yea — this is a great plug in – I want to donate if I can get this darn Word Press in the inbox of the e-mail to change…..

    I’m going to get my friends to donate too!

    Try going to Forms > Advanced Settings > E-Mail and change the send method to ‘PHP’. If that doesn’t work try using the ‘advanced’ e-mail.

    First, love this plugin and ease of use. Can I have the FROM be the person’s email who is contacting me, so that when I reply, I don’t have to paste in their email address to respond to them. As it is now, I reply and it sends the email to me. Thanks!

    And, I do see that you can have the user email when they are logged in, but what if they aren’t logged in?

    Ok, I worked it out myself…

    So, I am assuming you have already created your contact form with WordPress Form Manager and are getting contact forms sent to your administrator address, but when you want to reply to those comments, it is putting YOUR email address in the reply section, rather than the person’s email who contacted you, which isn’t TERRIBLE, but it is a little inconvenient if you get a lot of emails.

    So, go to the form that you made, click to edit. On the above tabs, click on FORM EXTRA. Then, you make a nickname for each of your labels which you already created when making the form (labels, such as Your Name, Your Email, Comments, etc.) Now, call these nicknames something like “clientname, clientemail, etc.

    Now, go to the advanced settings tab. And tick the box that says “use custom email notifications. In the box below it, paste in the info below. Notice that the info in the Reply-to: area below has those nicknames you made earlier.

    @start
    To: [admin email]
    From: [admin email]
    Reply-To: [item clientname] <[item clientemail]>
    Subject: [item subject]

    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-type: text/html

    @message start
    [template summary]
    @message end
    @end

    So, basically, the email comes to you, from you, but you reply to the person who contacted you via the contact form. That is what I, personally, needed. Hope this helps someone! ??

    I had the same problem and tried to change the send method form “wordpress” to “php” as suggested by hoffcamp and it works. Thanks. Now I got rid of the “WordPress” as the sender’s name in the FROM.
    The shortcode [item (Nickname)] works as the sender’s emailaddress put in the FROM.

    For new users,
    Things are now easier to do. Just follow this :
    (as admin)
    WordPress left column > Form >Form > click on the form you created >right column : Notifications > From: Your Name <[email protected]>

    You’re done !

    Great it is also possible to use shortcodes there?

    Is there a way to send a “we have received your form” response email to the sender of the form at the same time?

    Found it: “You first have to add a ‘Text’ field to your form, give it a label, and set the validation to ‘E-Mail’. Now save the form. Then, under ‘E-Mail Notifications’ (on the right hand side of the page), select the form item you just created under ‘Send to (user entry)’. Only text fields will show up in this list, and only saved fields as well. If the field does not show up, make sure you have saved the form, then check again. Although you can choose any text field, it is highly recommended that you set the validation for the field to ‘E-Mail’.”
