[Plugin: WordPress HTTPS] Minor Conflict with "Magic Members" Password Recovery
-
Hi Mike,
I have a minor problem, but I can work around it. I thought I should report it anyway in case it’s something that can be easily fixed.
I’m using a premium plugin called Magic Members to create a subscription-based membership site. It includes a
[user_lostpassword]
shortcode which embeds the lost password form into a web page. I checked the Force SSL box on that page, but unfortunately, the form does not work when I do that. The form seems to accept information, but it doesn’t do anything else. There’s no confirmation message, and it never sends the password recovery email. My work-around is to not use SSL on that page, and this solves the problem. Since the username and email address are essentially public information, SSL isn’t strictly necessary there. I just wanted to implement the strongest possible privacy protections for all account-related functions on the website.
I’m also using the Theme My Login plugin, and interestingly enough, its lost password form has no problem working when Force SSL is checked. The plugin conflict appears to be confined to the Magic Members lost password form.
Any thoughts on what could be causing this? Can I provide any information to help you troubleshoot this? I will also bring this to the attention of the Magic Members support team.
Thanks very much,
Fred
