[Plugin: WordPress Importer] Images not imported or not attached

  • Importing from a wordpress.com blog. Only have about 350 posts and 400 images. Image links still point to wordpress.com and do not exist in the gallery of the wp.org version. My host is hostgator. Additionally, a number of images that DO get uploaded to the new site are not attached, when in fact they were attached on the old site.

    Precisely. Importing images is key. Anyone managed to import images? Not just having them linked to wordpress.com

    I have really struggled with this plugin. It really is SO frustrating. Firstly, it took me ages to get the text over – eventually my web host had to do it.

    Now, I agree with the above.

    All pictures are linked to the wordpress.com blog and not downloaded and attached to the new blog.
    No galleries are transferred and therefore are blank
    All featured images have disappeared.

    SURELY, it must benefit the premium theme providers and host providers to write a plugin that actually works well.
