[Plugin: WordPress Mobile Pack] Mobile pages numbers don't match desktop page numbers
-
At the bottom of every page, there is a link to go to the parallel page on the mobile or desktop site. Theoretically, when visiting page #2 for a tag or a category and the URL has /page/2/ at the end, redirecting to the other mode with /page/2/ is a good idea, except it’s not, unless the mobile site is set to display 10 records at a time.
Unfortunately, the default for the plugin is to show only 5, which means the mobile site advances pages numbers twice as fast as the desktop site and the Google Crawler doesn’t like the redirecting link at the bottom of the page, ’cause it gets a 404!
User tip: set posts per page to “10”. Just checked. Works great.
Plugin developer tip: take the ratio of these numbers into account when creating the redirection link.
Good news: paged posts in mobile mode always redirect to the top of the desktop post, so no problem.
