• Hi,

I am trying to migrate the WP installation with all it contents from one domain to another. The backup is created successfully and it is imported successfully also from the domain I want to migrate from.

But the themes as well as plugin are not getting installed even though I am using the migration assistant to do a complete migration.

    Which step I am missing?

So you successfully started the migration and all backup files are sent to the server on the receiving end, right? If so, you only need to select the Restore option on the Migration Assistant page and complete the migration. This will import your database and extract the file system backups. If you selected the theme and plugin files while starting the migration, then there is no need for installing them once again as they will already be there once you complete the migration.

When i am trying to create the migration from sending end it give a js scripting error…but the file list comes up. I am selecting all the …files and the DB and files backup is done and successfully send to the receiving end. When i restore this files.it is done successfully but the themes as well as plugins are not getting restored, I wonder why??

Looks like the file tree is not working properly on your browser and causing incomplete (or maybe empty) file system backups.

The solution is to disable JavaScript on your browser to use the fallback method. It will list all the files with checkboxes next to them instead of a JS-based file tree but since you wish to select all the files, it’s not an issue.

So, disable the JS on your browser and try starting the migration again.

As suggested I have disabled the JS, and started the Migration process, but the result is same.

    Suggest.

Can you please check the file system backups’ size? It might not be including some of the files because of a permission issue.

Though, you can also manually transfer your plugins and themes from your old server to the new one.

I assume this one is resolved.

It has not yet been resolved. It is creation a backup file in the source domain, but the same is not getting imported in the destination domain. It is creating page, post, comments, but not moving plugins, templates.

I understand the issue but could you please respond to my previous message?

It is creating a backup file of size approx 25MB as well as sql file. I think the issue is coming when I am completing the migration of the domain in the receiving end.

I know I can manually transfer the same at a given time, but i was trying to figure out how we can use your wonderful plugin, which you created. It will ease our effort in moving the files from one domain to another.

I have the same problem with extra issues.

It did not take all the directories, and it expressly did not move any images.

It’s also giving a full server directory path for images for which the site can not find.
