First, thanks for the plugin — it’s been a real time-saver so far.

But now I’ve run into trouble. Everything is migrating to the new site except for the main content: all pages and posts are gone. (And since there are no pages, there is no navigation, etc.)

I read an earlier thread with a similar problem that seemed to be resolved by ensuring the permalink structure in both locations was the same. Mine is (after the transfer), and I’m wondering if that’s because the permalink settings were transferred along with the site files. Is my only option to take down the target site (with the missing pages) and reinstall WP before migrating again?

Or is this a conflict with some plugin? (I’ve disabled several on the source site before the migration.)

I’ve also tried using “0”, “30” and “100” for the chunk size, but it doesn’t seem to matter.

Any ideas — I’ve been working on this issue for hours….Thanks.

Could you please check the database backup file WordPress Move created to see if it has missing tables or not?

The problem happens either during the creation of the database backup file or while the database backup file is being imported on the target installation.

From what I can tell, all the tables are there, but one (wp_posts), which should contain all the content (text, inline styles, images, etc.) for the pages and posts, was missing all its data. (Am I right that there’s not a separate table for pages, and that page content is included in the wp_posts table? If there is supposed to be a wp_pages tables, it’s gone.)

Appreciate any insight, as I’ve used the plugin before without incident and found it one of the easier migration tools out there. This has made me a little reluctant to use it the next time. Hopefully there’s a simple fix…

Yes, there is only wp_posts table which stores all kinds of posts including pages.

WordPress Move has a problem with creating some plugins’ tables so I think these two problems might be somehow related. That bug will be fixed in the upcoming release, so I would really appreciate if you could try the upcoming release when it’s out and tell me how it goes ??

    Mert,
The same thing happend here.. Do you have any advice as to how to get the pages to work again? I tried the migration tool, that blew up, but now I am just trying to get back to my old platform, which isn’t taking it either?? Some how the databases got cross referenced? (The new domain for some reason was looking for stuff on the old domain?)

But for now, how do I get all the pages and stuff I created to work again? Any ideas?

    Thanks

I have the same problem. When looking at the new site through FTP, all of the content seems to be there. But there are no posts/pages on the new site when viewed through WP Admin and loading the site itself.

I’m a little technically proficient, but not very. I’m guessing it’s some sort of database problem but I don’t know how to fix this. Any advice?
