[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Author page not accessible when plugin active

I am using a solostream theme – WP Elegance
The setting I have in WordPress SEO plugin is:
I have NOT checked off the “deactivate author archives”.
When I deactivate the plugin the author page can be accessed.
Please help

PS: I have latest version of the plugin (Version 1.2.8.4) and WP 3.4.2
