[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Display custom taxonomy displayed in Post Title info?

I am attempting to get a custom taxonomy tag to display in the post title info. I tried modifying the post title template in Yoast SEO with the name of the custom taxonomy, inserting it where, for instance %%category%% would go, but this did not work.
Any advice?
