    From the last upgrade (1.2.3) some problems that I had seems fixed, but now I got other errors in xml sitemap, reported by GW.
    Yesterday was 446 and I was hoping it would solve itself, but instead it’s getting worse.
    There’s 1.055 total errors in sitemap_index.xml, as follows:

    URL is not valid, correct it and resubmit, Main tag: image, tag: loc.

    446 are in post-sitemap.xml and 609 errors in page-sitemap.xml

  • @stakouman Once you have done this and you have Yoast SEO plugin installed,you should check the sitemap at yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.html

    Select the relevant sitemap and you will see an image column where the number of images is displayed. You can also view source and it will show the underneat XML file.

    Hope it helps.

    No id does not. Thans anyway. The truth is that now i have WordPress seo by yoast, google xml sitemap, and google xml image sitemaps activated. May there is the problem, but like i said, i am a absolute beginner with coding, and afraid to do things…

    P.s. it is …sitemap_index.xml not html.

    But Thanks anyway

    Google xml sitemap by Arne isn’t incompatible with SEO Yoast sitemap (I don’t know the other plugin, google xml image sitemaps, but you don’t need three maps I guess).
    Try clicking save button in SEO->xml sitemaps settings and open maps in browser, and in google webmaster tool resubmit maps.

    @stakouman Yes my fault, the filename is indeed sitemap_index.xml

    You can check mine how it is generated : https://www.abhi.nl/sitemap_index.xml

    As Tizz mentioned the SEO Yoast works perfect and you do not need to install any other plugin. It will help if you provide your website URL where others can have a look and give proper suggestion.

    Thank you very much. I can confirm that this fixed the same problem I was having. Just remember that there are two instances of $this->images[$src] = $newimage; One on line 86 and the other on line 120

    @akdwivedi and @tizz,
    does it it means if the number of images are vissible, that the image with the “alt” ist delivered to google?

    I mean i have very nice images of my country, and befor pinguin i was ranking good. I was hooping that if the images was indexing, i would become some rankings back…

    How can i let the pictures index with a description and alt tag?

    But, thanks anyway, this is great to find so much people to share the same problem…

    And solutions as well !!!

    @ma9mwah,

    Genious! Thanks for the tip, worked like a charm!

    @joost,

    LOVE your plugin! Thanks!

    Unfortunately we have to do this again with the recent update … HELLO PHOTOCRATI!!! Can you fix this so we can just update???

    I could not find a bug report for this problem over at photocratis issue tracker so I opened one: https://bitbucket.org/photocrati/nextgen-gallery/issue/104/src-missing-in-sitemapphp

    Maybe you want to give it a “+1” so it’ll be fixed soon.

    Regards, JS

    I didn’t notice first there were two lines to add in the file.

    Sitemap files ok at last!
    Thanks you all for this thread!!
