[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Google not showing my Meta title and description !

  • I just started using WordPress SEO and installed the plugin as recommended (at least I hope so). It seems that google doesn’t show my title and description input.

    Example:

    Paarsekoeien on google:

    T: Paarse Koeien.nl – Maak je Business Buitengewoon en Opmerkelijk …
    D: Samen met jou de schouders eronder. Paarse Koeien Reitdiepstraat 3 3522 GG Utrecht T: Marcel Tjepkema: 06 42670626. E: [email protected] …

    My input with WordPress SEO:

    T: Paarse Koeien.nl – Maak je Business Buitengewoon en Opmerkelijk
    D: Paarse Koeien.nl richt zich op conceptontwikkeling en (waarde-)innovatie. Cre?er onderscheidend vermogen en leer van ruim 700 branchevreemde best practices

    So something doesn’t work.

    However if I add the link of my homepage (paarsekoeien.nl) to for example Faceboek, it does show the right title and description.

    Could it be that it taks time for the Title and description to show up right in google. Or is something wrong in my settings?

    I guess 3.3

    Google and other search engines update their cache of your page only occasionally. Can you find on Google the information when was this last updated for your website?

    Your Google cache for your homepage is still old. Do the following:

    1. Go into Google Webmaster Tools
    2. Go to Diagnose then “Fetch as Googlebot”
    3. Fetch your homepage
    4. Once done, click the “submit to index” link

    Then wait a day or so and it should be updated.
