• Hi Joost,

I read this article about putting xml sitemap location inside .htacces.

    < IfModule mod_alias.c >
    RedirectMatch 301 /sitemap\.xml$ https://your-site.com/sitemap.xml
    RedirectMatch 301 /sitemap\.xml\.gz$ https://your-site.com/sitemap.xml.gz
    < /IfModule >

It looks like this is hurting (maybe) improving SEO in addition to your XML function (autogenerate) and ping to searchengines.

Hope to hear from you if I can do this.

    Kind regards, Willem

    HI there,

It has been two months. THe word HURTING was not right ofcourse, so the question is:

It looks like this is (maybe) improving SEO in addition to your XML function (autogenerate) and ping to searchengines.

All I want to know if it is really a good idea to put these lines of code in my .htacces…

    Kind regards,

    Willem
