[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] My meta descriptions aren't showing up in the search result pa

    I did this:
    I am afraid my question is rather basic and exactly the same as described in the FAQ. But I still don’t manage to fix it. Here are the FAQ instructions:

    My meta descriptions aren’t showing up in the search result pages
    There are two possible issues with a meta description:

    1. You’re putting out more than one of them due to multiple plugins adding a description, for instance the WordBooker plugin adds a description too but has an option to disable it, other SEO plugins running might be another cause.
    2. You’re not seeing your meta description show up in the search result pages. Google will not alway show your meta description, the likelihood of your meta description appearing in the search results increases incredibly when your meta description contains the sought for keyword though, which is why the focus keyword functionality checks for the appearance of the focus keyword in the description.

    I did inactivate other plugins that might have cause this error.
    I also added the keyword in both title and meta description.
    But whatever I do the Google search result (for “MYSIGMA”) remains exactly the same.

    I expected the plugin to do this:
    Change the result of a Google search on the word “MYSIGMA”.

    Instead it did this:
    Nothing!

    I might just need help following the instructions better. Is there any instruction video for this? How much would it cost to have a support person do this for me on a clients site?

  • It’s also possible that the meta tags are being added by your theme, did you try reverting to the 2011 theme? Also keep in mind that the google search results do not update instantly, it’s more around 2-3 weeks.

    Hey My meta descriptions aren’t showing up in the search result pages. I am using seo by Yoast but the meta descriptions i use don’t seem to come on google

    I’m in the same boat…
    My Meta’s don’t show up in the serps…
    I’ve filled them all out, but only auto-generated ones of the page content appear…
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Same here. Anyone with any news on this? I use no other plugin for meta description except SEO by Yoast.

    I have submitted the site to index in Google but still it does not change. Can there also be any delays here when it is a newer site and the sitemap was only submitted lately?

    i am facing similar problem with my website tekinsol. the issue is little bit different. I am running the blog main page on my website main page with blog content in a sub directory. The problem is my site title and meta description is not getting replaced by yoast seo for single posts. can any one help?
