[Plugin: WordPress SEO by Yoast] Translation does not work when yoast seo is active

Hi Joost,
When the yoast seo plugin is active then even with the breadcrumbs in the yoast plugin turned off the theme own breadcrumb function does not translate the ‘Search results for’ string anymore into the local language. If i turn the yoast plugin off it works perfectly and translation takes place.
i have tried this with several themes with the same result. If i disable the plugin translation takes place correctly.
any idea where to look for this problem caused by the plugin?
