Hi! I was wondering how “heavy” the plugin wp-ajax-edit-comments is?

Will it increase load times? Much? Will it mess up things so Google finds the page slow?

I suppose that AJAX is pretty heavy to handle for slow connections and slow computers (AJAX in general have been critized for this in the past)…

    THANKS!

  • I’ve personally never received a direct complaint on load issues.

The plugin will have absolutely no affect on Google since the search engine doesn’t follow JavaScript.

Ajax Edit Comments is on a per-event basis, so there is no increased page-load when just looking at a page (with the exception of the necessary jQuery and AEC scripts). The comment editing may cause some extra load, but this is minimal compared a user editing a comment the normal way.

If you have heard otherwise, please direct my attention to a link or paste the comment in a reply.

    Thanks for your reply!

I have NOT heard about any particular problems, I was just wondering. Better safe than sorry, you know. ??
But I have nothing to worry about then!

Do you have any idea how many kb’s the jQuery and AEC scripts are by the way? Just to know how much (little) weight the plugin adds to the total?

    THANKS!
