[Plugin: WP e-commerce] Hide empty cart – jquery

There’s been a lot of posting about the problem that the hidden (empty) shoppingcart doesn’t show up when a product is added until the page is refreshed. (And also doesn’t hide when empty without a refresh.)
I don’t have a double jquery (fresh WP install and only the wpec plugin), but i noticed that the hide cart functionality works properly when I disable (the wp-included) jquery completely. Downside is that all the other plugins don’t work properly because of the missing jquery.
It seems to be a conflict with WPEC and the standard wp jquery, does anybody have a clue on this?
