I installed it and it didn’t show up. I thought it doesn’t want to work with Display Widget plugin, so I uninstalled it, but yours still didn’t show up. Oh, man, you got me!

It’s hard to tell you what’s wrong, but next version will work with short codes, so problably it will work better for you.

You can check this hack, cos the plugin is based on it. Also you see other hacks here, and maybe one can be a workaround for you.

You should also check your database tables prefix the plugin works only for wp_ prefix

Sure it will be on the next version, but it will take some time.

Meanwhile, I could develop a custom hack for you, if you want to fill this form.

I’ve just tried to install this widget. I want to be able to display a full list of my products by category in the sidebar and this plugin seemed ideal, but when I installed it I could get nothing to appear in the sidebar.

It is very important to me to be able to accomplish what I want without hacking the theme so that any theme upgrades work without problems, as I already have a bespoke working site (https://www.hypnosisaudiocds.com) and wish to migrate to WP and WP e-commerce. If I have to hack themes and plugins there would be little point in migrating. Have I misunderstood what this plugin can do?

Please check:

1) Is your database prefix “wp_”? This plugin uses the default database prefix, it needs it to work.
2) What’s you wp-ecommerce version? It works only for 3.8 or later.

Hi alvaron… I’m on WP e-commerce 3.8.6.1 and using the standard database prefix wp_

I’ve nearly finished my own plugin that will do what I want… just working my way through understanding the database structure… it won’t have any flexibility (just list products by category in alphabetical order) but it will do what I need… it actually bypasses the need for the standard wp_ prefix so when I’m done I’ll send you a copy if you like

OK you can download the *very* beta version at https://www.adamsargant.net/WP_ecommerce_allproducts.zip. If you want to discuss any of it, my email is in the plugin header… if you want to use any of it feel free (no attribution needed…)… you will notice I drew heavily on your MYSQL code ??

Still a lot of work to do though ?? I’d like to let people choose how to order categories and products

It really should just plug and play… add it, activate it, and the widget should appear… but there are no shortcode options, only sidebar widget
