• Seriously. The developers have the gall to call this version 3.72 when it really should be an alpha at best. Advertised features that seem like standard, functional necessities simply do not work:

    • Shipping calculators- external OR internal -do not work.
    • Shipping address ALWAYS defaults to “Alabama”, there is no way to change that.
    • If a user cancels their payment to Paypal, they are returned to a blank screen on your site, your inventory is still reduced, and the order is still registered anyway.
    • You can add information to products like an SKU number or any other custom fields, but there is nothing in the program that lets you use any of that information. Not in a sales receipt, not in a confirmation email, not in sales reports, you can’t even send that data to Paypal or any other payment gateway.
    • You cannot use Paypal and Google Checkout at the same time, it’s one or the other.
    • Support from the developers is abysmal and the documentation is worse; incomplete and outdated.
    • There’s plenty more, just read all the unanswered forum topics at https://www.instinct.co.nz/forums

These problems could be overlooked if the developer wasn’t charging money for a “premium” version and calling the plugin almost v4.0 instead of an unfinished product. Save your money and don’t waste your time until it actually WORKS.

  • Was just going to buy the gold upgrade – THANK YOU! I guess I’ll go back to magento or zencart or something. Wanted to make it easy with WP.

I had this installed today and uninstalled it in favor of Your Member (for subscription sales). Sales support there is spectacular, if that’s what you need. They have other premium plugins, too. He said something about a new shopping cart system they have coming. Page is https://www.newmedias.co.uk/ .

    wooow :
    * Shipping calculators- external OR internal -do not work. <– works for me and thousands of other users,
    * Shipping address ALWAYS defaults to “Alabama”, there is no way to change that. <– if you actually change your target markets for your countries it does change it from default ‘alabama’ and would not be much of a change,, basically most people dont mind the default a-z listing (it kinda does make sense)
    * If a user cancels their payment to Paypal, they are returned to a blank screen on your site, your inventory is still reduced, and the order is still registered anyway. <– its in your system as order received not payment accepted (this information is actually handy for some shop owners and necessary for some of the gateways that dont support IPN functionality) The blank screen,, well I havent seen that issue since 3.6, the inventory being reduced is because they order may well still go through (maual payment for example you could be waiting for the payment to go through,,, However you did bring an issue to my attention (thanks again) when you cancel an order the stock is not replaced, I will look into that ASAP)
    * You can add information to products like an SKU number or any other custom fields, but there is nothing in the program that lets you use any of that information. Not in a sales receipt, not in a confirmation email, not in sales reports, you can’t even send that data to Paypal or any other payment gateway. <– comes out on the invoices, will be looking at integrating it into more features soon.
    * You cannot use Paypal and Google Checkout at the same time, it’s one or the other. <– that has been worked on and does work for my sandbox accounts
    * Support from the developers is abysmal and the documentation is worse; incomplete and outdated. <– we support as many people as we can and the documentation is being updated as we speak. We have lively conversations with clients/users in our blogs during release/after release
    * There’s plenty more, just read all the unanswered forum topics at https://www.instinct.co.nz/forums <– given our resources and huge following, sometime getting a reply from the developers can seem painfully slow but I assure you we do take note and try our best to reply to everyone.

I’d just like to thank you for the feedback we appreciate the time and effort you put into writing this post, I’m sorry the plugin did not work out for you, at least your attempt to use our software did not cost you anything. Say Thank you Open Source ??

You mentioned these problems could be overlooks if the developers were not charging money for ‘premium’ versions, these modules not only provide different functionality than the main plugin but also provides users with support while installing and setting up their shop. Other similar plugins charge you just for trying it out, we dont.
You tried it, and didn’t like it. That is upsetting to hear, I wish we could have given you assistance while you were trying our plugin out. We try our best to make everone happy, but I guess that just ain’t possible.
