I tried that, but it just seemed so complicated. That said, in the time I’ve spent trying to get e-commerce to work, I could probably have worked it all out. I’ve solved most problems, but the ones I have now are that customers get a download link, but it doesn’t work, and I can’t upload epub files for products – it just keeps saying there are no files to download for that product despite my attempt to upload them.

I used e-commerce when it 1st came out and it was excellent
however, it’s gotten complicated beyond belief and support is zero

    so I switched to e-shop
it’s much simpler to me – and just works

I’ll give it another shot and, hopefully, won’t get the problems e-commerce creates. I was just looking at Duka Press. Have you ever tried that?

    no
I’ve heard cart 66 is good

I installed eshop and it works perfectly. So refreshing to find programmes that actually work. Thanks for the tip!

New at all of this. Just installed eshop and it looks like it’s pretty comprehensive.
Any tutorials on how to make simple customizations like removing the stock grid display and just have it display the “add to cart” botton with options dropdown? I’ve seen it done elsewhere and wonder if it is a setting I need to make or customization in the theme code.

I don’t know, I’m afraid. I did find the support on their site pretty straightforward so I’d recommend looking there.

I have a huge headache over wp e-commerce plugin. Spent all day yesterday getting my store ready and all worked fine and then POOF ! All products pages come back 404 CANNOT BE FOUND. No matter what theme I use. Will look at e shop but I see others are having issues with that plugin too.

all shopping carts have quirks – they are really complicated. however, rich supports his plugin very well and all issues I’ve seen are minor.

eshop doesn’t support Google Checkout gateway. Can’t use it for my needs, but I’m frustrated with the problems I keep running into with this plugin.
