• I’m using the WP e-Commerce plugin (3.8.13.3) with the Members Only (‘Membership & Subscription plugin for WP e-Commerce’) plugin (version 2.9).

I’ve noted that the membership plugin shows this helpful error message when customers try to buy a membership and any other product:

Invalid first trial period. You must specify valid values for the A1, P1 and T1 parameters for a subscription.

The error is shown as soon as the customer has been redirected to Paypal. I’m not sure how the customer is to make sense of the error message; I haven’t got a clue as to what the A1, P1 and T1 parameters are about (“code is poetry”?)

For info; I’m using Paypal standard. Buying a subscription normally works just fine; the error is triggered when someone buys a subscription and another product.

For yet more info: it seems that the developers were aware of the bug in 2011: https://getshopped.org/forums/topic/normal-products-and-recurrent-billing-products/. As far as I can tell the bug has never been fixed?
