    Hey Fabi,

I’m delighted to have found this plugin, but I need to know if it can do what I want or if what I want is beyond its capability.

Let me preface this request. We’ve used the Headway Theme Framework to create the site and it permits multiple different sidebars, each potentially containing different widgets, and also different instances of the same widget.

We have many documents, pdfs, on different topics – categories – and we would like to display all categories in the widget area on one page (the front page), and then category specific documents on the appropriate pages. In other words we’d need a different instance of filebase file list for the insurance page and another for the emergency page.

Once the file list widget is added to one widget, it’s not available to add to another to generate a different sub-list of widgets. Is it possible, and I’m just missing it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

The file list widget only supports one instance at the same time because it uses the old widget API. I will try to conform it to the new api asap.

I also need multiple instances of the file list widget.
Would greatly appreciate if you could make this feature available soon ??

Oh, I would love this too. This was the perfect widget for my clients needs until I realized I couldn’t use it the same way the gentleman above me mentioned.

    Fabi,

Do you have an idea of when you will be able to conform it to the new api? We’re now up against a deadline and need to have a solution, hopefully better than entering the code in a text widget.

Please give us an estimate of when this might be available.

Thanks so much for all your hard work.

Hi everyone, I was waiting for the update too, but I think I found a work around for the time being.

If you have the plugin Conditional Widgets installed and set each filelist widget up with it, they magically work.

I can’t see the reason, but it works. I got three filelists displaying files from different categories on the same page in the same sidebar right now. All are working. That is enough for me at the moment.

    Maybe it’ll help.

Multi-instance file widgets are in since 0.2.9.24.
So there is no magic ??
