[Plugin: WP Mail SMTP] SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Connection refused (111)

  • Hi, when I send test email, I get the following error

    SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Connection refused (111)

    I’m setting up a Gmail account for port 587

    settings I enter in the plugin

    From Email ([email protected])
    From Name jorge

    select (Send all WordPress emails via SMTP).

    Host SMTP (smtp.gmail.com)
    SMTP Port (587)

    Encryption (Use TLS encryption. This is not the same as STARTTLS. MOST For SSL servers is the recommended option.)
    Authentication (Yes: Use SMTP authentication).

    Username ([email protected])
    pass (xxxxxxxx)

    I have a hostgator account I wonder if I have to change something in my cpanel.
