Shawn – this isn’t directly related to the existing thread – you should be starting a new thread if you have a question.
The issue you had can happen when there is a breakdown anywhere in the automatic install process – there are lots of possibilities that have nothing to do with the plugin.
Here is what you could do:
- Attempt the install via the plugin manager again
- Download the 2.7.7 version, unzip, and ftp the new version (you should deactivate the plugin prior to doing this)
If you directly ftp the update and have problems, I would say you need to check the chmod settings of the /wp-members/ and/or /wp-content/plugins/ directories. If you have hardened your install and chmoded these to not be writable, you will need to change that to update.
