Hi all – FOUND THE PROBLEM
This does not now look like a plugin problem
I sent a mail to Mark – re this problem discovered today (06 Jan 2012
It turns out to be a .htaccess issue possibly not related to the plugin at all – so wanted to let everyone know. Also suggested to Mark he adds something about this to the closed ticket so anyone else who finds this will know.
Somewhere this .htaccess file gets created in the /wp-content/plugins/wp-online-store/admin folder(it’s not in the plugin install package?) and restricts access to the folder with a password requirement – where the referenced /passwd file is not present.
The file seems to be created during a server cron run, definitely not during the plugin installation.
For a temporary fix deleting this file from /wp-content/plugins/wp-online-store/admin folder fixes the problem!
May not be the best way to do it – but works in the meantime until I can find a better way.
Clicked The Works with WP 3.3.1 as well – still a great plugin for e-commerce system. Highly recommended.
Thanks Garfield – did eventually get the update – been very busy 2 weeks.
(To Ray – I’d be interested to know your ISP and server configuration – see if there’s any correlation – I don’t want to turn this support forum into a chat line – mail me [email protected])
