I use wordpress 3.2.1 with twenty eleven theme.
I have several pages based on the template with sidebar.
Classic wordpress widgets management works as long as WP Page Widget is deactivated.
Once activated and when I do use custom widget management on those pages, old settings I tried from before deactivating appear, then disappear… it is very strange.
I really don’t understand, I will try soon another wordpress install but I doubt as the one i’m currently using is quite fresh !
It is a pity because this plugin, if it works, would be awesome ??
Thanks anyway for your efforts till now, it shows that micro widgets management is possible and is a real need in wordpress.

    Dear cfabrice,
Could you clarify: appear vs disappear so we know more before investigate the problem?
    Best regards,

Ok: when I set a widget to display on a page, it doesn’t show.
later, after, for example, getting back to standard WP widget management and then again to your plugin management with a new setting, it is sometimes the previous setting that shows up in the widgets !
but i can’t tell you more as i have been trying a lot of things and i couldn’t see any particular logic or sequence as I had none in my experimenting.

I’ve read the other posts and i must still precise this:
    – I’m using a child theme (under twenty eleven)
    – my wordpress install (3.2.1) is in french
    If it matters…
    thank you anyway.

    Dear cfabrice,
Thank you for trying to explain. Our dynamic widget plugin works separately with WP default widgets interface.
So perhaps you expectation is: when you make changes in WordPress widget default interface you want these changes appear by default in our interface then you can customize from there?

no ! I understood that your management is separated…
But this is very strange: can you tell me if it is the same for you.
I made a fresh database, i installed a fresh wordpress in english – everything is brand new and clean. no extension installed.
I have 2 widgets on the homepage. and if I look in the wp wordpress widget interface, there are none on the sidebar.
If then I change a static page to the template with the sidebar, I then get the same 2 widgets on the page (archive and meta). Strange isn’t it ?
if then I add a text widget on the sidebar it works fine and the previous 2 initial widgets don’t appear anymore.
So this is one thing to do first, it is like it activates wp widgets management.
then i installed your extension for posts and pages and for main sidebar and footer 1.
I edit a page based on the sidebar template, i select custom in your interface. I take off the text widget that I had set previously and put the calendar widgets instead. I save the widget, i update the page. and then what i get in my browser is again the 2 defautls widgets from the very beginning: archives and meta !!!
    Very strange isn’t it ?
I’m sure it is not my mac, it is brand new too.
all of this is with the default theme twenty eleven. and I’m running WP locally using MAMP.
    Any idea ?

    I think I got it !
on a page with custom widget managing activated, if i drag a widget from the available widgets and then i save the page, there is no widgets saved !
but if i drag this time the widget from the inactive widgets lists, then it looks like it is working !!!
I don’t really know what is the difference, but if it works perfect, you have no idea of the success you plugin will have ??
    Thank you !
