• Hi Ome Jaap and others

    Great Plugin ome Jaap
    Here’s my question
I don’t want a preview of the pics in the album. Only the slideshow, which should start on opening the page. with no further options for the user then to look or navigate to another page.
I’ve added %%wppa%%%%album=1%% to the content and have, at settings, Start running slideshow: checked. Yet I see a static display in a gray area of every picture.

    What should I alter?

    thx

    grtz Grimbo

and BTW what if I want an even slower change rate than very slow. Which parameter should I alter?

    Try this:

    %%wppa%% %%slide=1%%

How slow do you want? I am on the point of releasing 2.3.0 but if you respond quickly i can add ‘extremely slow’ if you like.
Very slow is 2 sconds currently.

    great it works!

i am thinking like 4 seconds

BTW how can I skip all the user tools and info? I only want to display the pics.

And what I also like to accomplisch (on my static website, wp being used as a cms) is what is also asked in:

    this post
I was thinking to make several posts each with a different slide=
And then write a query for the sidebar to select the right post for each respective page.

Please shoot / augment /critizise on this idea

    Of course, it works.

4 seconds, it’s on your way.

Currently you can only switch the breadcrumb off (somewhere at the bottom of the settings screen).
I will make the display of photo name and description optional, but not yet in 2.3.0

You could do already a lot by setting the background and border colors to transparent and font sizes to 0.

In version 2.4.0 You will be able to suppress name and description.
In version 2.4.0 You will be able to suppress navigation bars.

Did you know you can use %%wppa%% %%slide=..%% etc. in a page exactly as in a post? So why not simply make the pages and list them in a page widget, like the one i made for us?

Maybe even simpler: make one generic photo album page with the content:
%%wppa%%. Nothing more. Use a suitable template, maybe no sidebars.

Then make a (standard WP) widget with links. The links should look like (if you have standard permalink structure):

    https://www.opajaap.nl/wordpress/?page_id=1587&album=6&cover=0&occur=1
    https://www.opajaap.nl/wordpress/?page_id=1587&album=6&photo=214&occur=1

The first line is the same as: %%wppa%% %%album=6%%

If you want: %%wppa%% %%cover=6%% change the above &cover=0 to &cover=1

Never forget the &occur=1 otherwise you might see nothing.

You can try the links above, they are real

    A demo is here.
    See the ‘Album links’ widget.
