Grabbed a copy of the plugin (older) and uploaded, but it didn’t show up. So, managed to do an upgrade of it, and it showed up, activated, all good.

(All permissions set to 755 and/or 777 for directories)

I can create albums, but when I attempt to upload photos, or import photos, I get errors:

    Upload:
ERROR: Resized or copied image could not be created.
    Error inserting photo php7DbUNQ.

    Import:
ERROR: Resized or copied image could not be created.
    Error inserting photo 1.JPG.
    No files to import.

    Any assistance is awesome. ??

Is ‘resize on upload’ on or off?

And you are sure …/wp-content/uploads/wppa/ exists??

After reading your message, I went to re-check the folders. Something happened with the creation of the wppa folders — they were there, but I was unable to change them to 777, or delete them. I had my provider delete them, and I changed the permissions to 777, and all is good now.
    Thanks for the quick reply.

Im actually having exactly the same problem. When I try to import photos from the specified source directory I will just get a message that says:

“Resized or copied image could not be created”

All of the folders were created fine. I have wp-content/uploads/wppa/thumbs. And their permissions are all set to 777. I put a folder of photos into the uploads folder via FTP and the plugin sees them and everything, but its not successfully importing them like I mentioned above.

What am I missing? It seems like a great plugin and I would love for it work.
    Thanks in advance!

You can not put a folder of photos in the uploads folder.

Put photos or a zip that contains photos(not a folder) in wp-content/wppa-depot/yourloginname and use Import Photos to import them from ‘Your depot’ (the default source directory).

DO NOT put in or remove from uploads/wppa and/or uploads/wppa/thumbs photos manually (by ftp), as this corrupts the integrity of wppa+.

If the original photos are very big (in terms of pixelsizes) you may have a problem that there is not enough memory for php to create the resized image. First try it with photos of, say 1024×768 pixels or so.

I used this plugin without too much trouble a while ago. Now I got the zip file uploaded ok, but when I try to import those photos or upload a single photo I get “ERROR: Resized or copied image could not be created.” errors.
I have the directories set ok, and I actually have one album, uploaded a while ago, running in another blog (I’m running multisite)….

Check Table X. The top part shows you the actual directories where the photos are being copied to (WPPA_UPLOAD_PATH). That directory as well as its subdir /thumbs should exist and be writable.
