Just upgraded to 4.6.6 tonight and immediately noticed all my preview thumbnails in every post were now cut off.

To preview various images I had used the code similar to the below in all my posts to link people directly to an album via a WPPA thumbnail.

    %%wppa%% %%photo=1503%% %%size=150%%%%align=center%%

I did nothing but the 4.6.6 upgrade (no posts were edited in any way) and now all the thumbnail images show at correct width but are limited to something like 30-31 pixels in height. I tried my site in Firefox (latest) and Chrome (latest) same result. I also noticed removing the align or width parameter didn’t change the fact the image was always cut off to 30 odd pixels.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong but I LOVE that preview image and want it back! HA.

Thanks for any help in advance!

Do you mean the lightbox? The slideshow works for me in ie8

Having now acquired a XP box with IE8 I can confirm the following:
    WPPA+ VER 4.6.7 has problems.
    On a Page I have:
    %%wppa%% %%photo=11572%% %%size=300%% %%align=right%%
This used to display the photo 11572. Now only the top 10% shows on the page.
This happens on other pages for other photos.

Slideshows work in the main content area but click on a photo to run wppa Lightbox and instead of it opening in the center of the screen, a very small photo opens at the top left of the screen. There are no navigation arrows and no Close function.

I’ve done a few more tests with XP/IE8.
    I reverted back to WPPA+ ver. 4.6.4.
This cures the photo display – all of it shows now, not just the top 10%.
Unfortunately, Lightbox doesn’t work. It’s the same as in my previous post. Also it’s not straightforward to exit the faulty Lightbox display – you have to click several times outside of the box to close it.
Whether all the above goes for other Lightbox implementations or just the wppa version I don’t know. I’ll test later and let you know.
Unfortunately, there are still thousands of people out there running XP and IE8 if not IE7.

Please update to 4.6.8. Its not great yet, but workable.

This fixes the cutoff problem for me!

    Thank you!

Ver. 4.6.8 has fixed both the photo cutoff problem and now Lightbox works too in XP/IE8.
In IE8 the Lightbox displays to the left of the screen rather than in the center but that’s not a major issue at all.
    Well done Opajaap!

That is because in ver 4 browsers one can not get the inner width of the window. This is the original cause of the problem, i now assume 800px.

As I say,it’s not a major issue. The big and best thing is that now Lightbox works in those antique browsers.
    Once again, thanks.

    Hi opajaap

I have now upgraded to Ver 4.6.9 but I still have the same problem with IE8 that I described in my earlier posts on this thread.

If you click on a thumbnail on this page
    https://www.polioaustralia.org.au/?page_id=10509
to go to the slideshow in IE8, you’ll see the problem I described where there is a gap between the picture and its title beneath, on every picture where the height of the picture is less than the 600px I have set for max height in the settings.

If you view the same page in Firefox, the title and the picture are closely adjacent for every picture, no matter what the height.

Can the IE8 behaviour be fixed so that the pictures look the same as they do in Firefox?

    Yours hopefully ??

I have a website page with both portrait & landscape photos in a slideshow and there’s no problem in IE8.
    It’s here: https://www.gamlingayphotos.co.uk/events/?wppa-photo=11520

    Hi David

    Thanks for posting that ??

Do you also have the width set to “auto” in settings Table 1, A1? It doesn’t appear so when I squish up my IE8 window while viewing your pictures.

My slideshows work fine with “auto” set in Firefox but not in IE8. In IE8 they work fine with, say, “800” px set in Table 1, A1, instead of “auto” but then I lose the responsive functionality that I want.

Would you mind testing yours with “auto” width set? It might rule out my host, theme and plug-ins as the source of the problem.

    @ Gillian AND @ davidallen23:

I would like to know what the settings are in Table I-A1 (colum width), I-B1 (fullsize width), I-B2 (fullsize height) and IV-B1 V-align from both of you please. That would make troubleshooting easyer.
    Thanx in advance

    Currently I have:
    I-A1: 640
    I-B2: 480
    IV-B1: fit

    Hi opajaap

    I-A1 = auto
    I-B1 = 800
    I-B2 = 600
    IV-B1 = fit

    Thanks ??

    Gillian

    Try that again:
    Currently I have:
    I-A1: 640
    I-B1: 480
    I-B2: 480
    IV-B1: fit
