Blocking IP addresses from visiting your site is not an “Analytics” feature per se. the most efficient way of doing this is by adding some rules to your htaccess, so that PHP/Wordpress is not even loaded. I have a separate plugin that automatically updates my htaccess based on the number of pageviews in a given timespan. I just set the timespan and the threshold (100 pageviews in 15 minutes, in my case) and the plugin does the rest.

Then I can manually remove entries, if needed, and/or add them to a whitelist.

yes i realise this, just thought it would be a great cross feature as this enables you to block from the results of the stats if that makes sense.

can you tell me more about this plugin is it used to stop spammers on the site or simply restrict number of page views an ip address can view which in my case would probably not be a good idea.

what I am trying to do is stop certain countries but the large number of IP for that country is a problem for htaccess, but since using your amazing plugin for stats I can see a pattern evolving and with me not having much experience of htaccess i figured a plugin or extra feature using the stat details with a click of a button to block would help me enormously

Yes, I see your point indeed. This is what I was thinking to add to the next version of WP SlimStat, using a metaphor. It would ring a bell every time it records a pageview from one of the countries in your blacklist. Then another plugin would listen for this bell and take the appropriate action (send a “forbidden” message to the visitor, redirect to a courtesy page, etc… That’s up to you). I could write this other plugin for you, if needed, based on your specs and requirements (as a freelance consultant).
