[Plugin: WP SlimStat] Duplicate Records

    Hi there,

    Firstly, awesome plugin, definitely the best WP stats plugin ever created.
    I am not sure if this has already been asked, but I notice that I am getting duplicate entries. For example, when I am in the Right Now section, I have noticed that for every page, there are two user records. Even if it is a Google search entry, this is recorded twice. Do you know what could be going on?

    Hi Damian,

    does this happen for ALL the entries or just for some of them? Some users’ browsers may be using ‘prefetching’:

    (from the FAQ) “Phantom” page views can occur when a user’s browser does automatic feed retrieval, link pre-fetching, or a page refresh. WP SlimStat tracks these because they are valid requests from that user’s browser and are indistinguishable from user link clicks. You can ignore these visits setting the corresponding option in Settings > SlimStat > Filters

    If it happens all the time, there could be a conflict with some other plugin. In this case, is there a chance I take a look at the issue?

    Thanks very much for getting back to me so quick. Yes, I understand what you are saying. You know it is really strange because it seems to be happening for every page request.

    Hi Camu,

    You were right. I ticked the checkbox ‘Ignore Prefetch’ in the Filters section of SlimStat and it is no longer recording duplicate requests.
