    help please!

Yes, unfortunately, if you looked at a few other support tickets, you’d quickly realize this is a known problem.

Not with the plugin but with the actual Yahoo Smush.it service. Nothing can be done except hopefully Yahoo fixing their broken service. Which we are all hoping to happen.

Same problem here. Number #2 above – automatic smushing disabled…
And, unable to use the ‘Smush.it Now’ button feature.

Hope Yahoo already knows about this, but maybe we should tell me…

Yes, I’ve been getting this for some while… “Automatic smushing has been disabled temporarily due to an error. Operation timed out after 20000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received”. One day its working, the next its not, then its working again.

same problem here – Automatic smushing has been disabled temporarily due to an error. Operation timed out

Jeez, just when is Yahoo going to do something about all this, I wonder?

    Same here.
It’s a shame, because I found that by manually losslessy compressing all the images on the static pages of the website through command line utilities, I managed to save a lot of bandwith.

come on GOOGLE – let’s get it working again!

Trying hard to work it on a site https://www.invectura.com, but now came to know that a known problem. Sad.

    same

But do you achieve to make it work occasionally, or it never work??

Yahoo is familiar with the issue, and the workaround for it does allow it to work occasionally, as it is more of a timing out and number of connections error. My suggestion would be to use the service directly https://www.smushit.com/ysmush.it/ or do small batches of images when it is available.

It works once every 10 times, or so, for me. Hopefully, since Yahoo knows, they will properly fix it.
For me, I’m a bit lucky I guess, as I don’t need to upload a lot of images to my site regularly.

    Andrew

I use to decrease the size of my images with Gimp, but i upload a lot of images every days, and Smush.it appear to be a good solution (the others work only with Linux and not with windows)

And for me it never work all time !!

You never know, maybe Google will step in and take it over from Yahoo. At least they wouldn’t then have to spider so many sites for images.
