I couldn’t really find the answer in any of the previous topics on this problem, but the titles and dates from the latest posts aren’t showing on my Blogroll. I just installed today, so it couldn’t be anything API key related, right? Since that isn’t required by Google anymore. At this moment I’m just seeing the blog names listed, but not any of the other info, while I did set it to show that in the settings. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I’m using the newest versions of both WordPress and the plugin.

  • I’m having this same problem. It does look like my blogroll is getting favicons for external sites successfully, so something is working. It’s only showing the site title though, not the most recent post name or date.

I have “Use Google Feed Discovery” selected.

I also have “Displays the blogname, the age of the latest article and its title. Each element in its own line” checked.

Any ideas about how to debug this further?

Please let me look into this issue by providing the URL of your WordPress blog.

I’m not sure how that would help but it’s https://sugarfanatic.nl. As you can see in the sidebar (the bottom widget), it only shows the site names, but not the title of the latest post or the age of the article. Hope it can be resolved!

Also, it says this at the top of the settings page:

JavaScript-file and content-directory are writable. This is no longer necessary. You should make the content-directory read-only (chmod 755) now for security-reasons.

This plugin requires only JavaScript-file itself to be writable.

    /srv/disk2/135325/www/sugarfanatic.nl/wordpress/wp-content/feedreading_blogroll.js

Could that have anything to do with it? I checked both the js file and the content directory and they’re 777 and 755, respectively. So the error would be inaccurate.

I also got like this problem.. already folloe up the turotial installing and select the “Displays the blogname and below that in one single line the age of the latest article and its title” for my defult setting but his not show the article title but only the blog name.. :(..

@est90: the problem is that your theme is not 100% compliant with the WordPress guidelines. None of your template-php-files contains the wp_head-tag.

Please add this tag to your template.

    see https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/wp_head for more details.

@erunafailaro: Ah okay, I’m kind of a noob when it comes to advanced (or simple) WordPress stuff, so thanks for pointing that out! I’ve put the code in my header.php file, but there are still no article titles or dates ??

Oh, one more thing seems to be missing:

Add the wp_footer-tag to your footer.php

    see https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/wp_footer for more details.

That did the trick, thanks so much!

Hope you don’t mind I have one more question. How can I get it to show “Show all” under the 5 links that I’m displaying right now? I have about 15 links in my blogroll and I would like to be able to expand but not have all those 15 in the sidebar all the time.

Sorry, there is not “Show all” button at the moment. I know that Google offers this useful feature for their Blogger users.

I could add this feature in a future version of the plugin, but currently it’s difficult to find the necessary time to accomplish that. I’m on parental leave with my 10-month old son.
