Ok I patiently waited and finally upgraded to 1.6.9 or wwhateve is the latest still get the following error.

Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an open_basedir is set in /home/guppydas/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/classes/util/WPSDMozRank.php on line 45

I checked with my hosting company, they say Safe Mode is OFF.

Ok let them lift the open_basedir restriction in php.ini.

And try again…

CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION works on most machines.

The hosting company did the changes as you suggested. It works. No more errors. Thank you.
