[Plugin: WP Super Cache] and iframed pages

I’m looking at converting our site, which gets large amounts of traffic, from the wp-cache plugin to WP Super Cache. I’m sure it would help. We get approx 25,000 visits a day (it’s a local news site for a TV station), so traffic and bandwidth are real concerns.

Here’s my question: Our school closings page is automatically updated by software for the TV side of the house. We have no choice but to use this if we’re going to have immediately updated school closings, here in snow country. But the system requires us to <iframe> the updated closings page into our template.

The <iframe>’d page resides on our server, but outside of the WP file folders. It is a very plain HTML table, listing schools and statuses. The software updates the page — uploading a new copy — once every 60 seconds.

Today, the first real day of closings and delays, our server slowed to a crawl. The closings page was getting hammered and our site, which sits on the edge of a fiber line, was impossible to navigate for a couple of hours.

How does WP Super Cache deal with pages that have an embedded iframe? Will readers who refresh the page get the latest closings?
