• I asked my host to install APC, and my site, forexcrunch.com crashed. I got an itnernal server error there and on another site that used the wp super cache plugin. Other cache plugins continued working elsewhere.

Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround? Both APC and Super Cache are very valuable…

    Thanks,
    Yohay.

  • It’s not known but APC causes problems sometimes with kses.php. Have you tried xcache? I use that with Supercache.

    Thanks.

These are the errors that they saw:
    # php index.php
    Segmentation fault

    ================================================
[Sat Feb 13 07:19:38 2010] [error] [client *] Premature end of script
    headers: index.php
[Sat Feb 13 07:19:38 2010] [error] [client *] Premature end of script
    headers: index.php

I tried uninstalling APC and it didn’t help. Now I’ve asked my hosting service to remove xcache and I’ll report.

Maybe it’s not related to these modules…

Update: When I wrote the previous message, they didn’t fully remove APC.
Now they did, and Super Cache works perfectly on my site: forexcrunch.com

    Thanks again,
    Yohay.

Just wanted to post my two cents on this (found via google for “wp super cache and APC). Running WP Super Cache on my VPS server with APC enabled and no problems. My stats monitoring doesn’t show much performance gain at all, but no errors thus far.

chaosratt – I’m not surprised. It works for most people, but not for all ??
