• I’m having a minor issue finishing the install of WP Super Cache…0.9.1

When trying to access Plugins within admin backend I get a server 500 error and the line added to PHP error log states missing function admin_url on line 1395 of wp_cache.php ??

WP Super cache tab is functional and displaying correctly.. I haven’t switched caching on as yet because of this problem…

    Suggestions please…

    Thanks

    Status info…
    The basic install seems complete…
    Files in place.
Rewrite rules added to ht.access ( I’m running Apache under Windows so .htaccess isn’t such a good name ) both in root and subdirectory as suggested.

Rest of site working properly as far as I can tell…

  • Do you get the 500 error if you comment out the following line in wp-cache.php?
    add_action( ‘admin_init’, ‘wp_cache_admin_notice’ );

No I don’t get the 500 error any more – the plugins tab appears correctly.

The same happens if I comment out the line with the admin_url call…

Perhaps a new file got added..( I had originally downloaded a slightly prior version and accepted the auto prompt to upgrade when installing ) and the upgrade process fail to pick this up ?

How do I manually deactivate this plugin? Can I do this through the database. It’s messed up my admin and I can’t get at it. I don’t want it to work at this point just remove it. Can just delete it because it then takes the whole site offline.

Scroll down and look for the uninstall directions.

The problem as I’ve stated is that I can’t access my admin due to conflicts with this plugin, so step one has to be done another way.

    1. Clear the cache in the backend page and then deactivate it on the plugins page.

Obviously you’ll have to skip that step. You manually delete the cache in step 5 anyway.

    Jeremy,

I’ve been trying. Any step to manually do this make the main site stop working. I’m in bit of a bad spot right now. My site Bones Over Metal.com is in serious need of Caching. However, the plugin seems to only be half working. Last night I lost the entire site and by changing my .htaccess back, I got it back. However, now I don’t have admin.

I am would like to hire someone to finish this task. Are you interested or do you know someone who is? Thanks,

    Mark Brent

I followed these steps listed above and it takes my site completely offline. What gives?

    hello all (especially donncha)

Although I finally managed to uninstall WP Super Cache, I really do appreciate the value this plug-in has and really want to get it up and running form my blog.

Does anybody know any more about ‘500 error and the line added to PHP error log states missing function admin_url on line 1395 of wp_cache.php ??’

I have decided to try install the plug in again (God help me!), and have looked at the Troubleshooting list in the FAQ’s for help.

I need to clarify/understand the following before I start again… can anybody help:

    1. Is wp-content writable by the web server?
(sorry, dont know what this means – could somebody explain?)

    8. Anything in your php error_log?
(again, sorry, don’t know what this means – could somebody explain?)

    10. The plugin does not work very well when PHP’s safe mode is active. This must be disabled by your administrator.
(again, sorry, don’t know what this means – could somebody explain?)

    14. Make sure cache/wpcachemutex.lock is writeable by the web server.
(again, sorry, don’t know what this means – could somebody explain?)

Any other feedback, comments and ideas about ‘easy’ installation are welcome.

    Brian
