[Plugin: WP Super Cache] Two Confusions – Can’t Tell If Super Cache Is Working Correctly
-
I am having really bad server load issues with my blog. I’ve set up APC. And, today, I switched from WP-Cache 2 to Super Cache.
Confusion #1:
The Super Cache instructions say to remove the WP_CACHE define from the config file. However, when I comment that out, the entire cache seems not to function at all. In fact, I couldn’t even enable the super cache without that defined to TRUE. So, if the directions say remove it, why does it stop working when I do that?Confusion #2:
Even with Super Cache apparently working (judging from the fact that cached pages are being created), the server load issues haven’t resolved. Also, it *seems* as if the pages are being regenerated too often. So, I’m wondering if the htaccess file is set up correctly for Super Cache to function correctly. Can I find a sample htaccess file which shows what it should look like with both the Super Cache entries as well as the permalink entries? As I look around the net, I keep finding code snippets which are different. So, what should it look like?
NOTE: I hope I’m putting this in the right forum. Technically, it is installed. I just want to make sure I did it right. Because, like I said, my server load is still high and it makes little sense.
