hi, first off – awesome plugin. Use it a lot across the website and really enjoy it. Here’s the problem: when page accessed via this addresss
https://www.traincanada.com/media/guaranteed-to-run/ everything works well. Without www (https://traincanada.com/media/guaranteed-to-run/) tools disappear. I read somewhere that it has to do with the WP general settings and the address and have in Site Address (URL). However, even though i have that address changed to www many users still go to non www version of the page – probably because of the bookmars of smth.
I tried a bunch of plugins that supposedly force www address but non of them work. Also played with web.config file with little success. The non-www page is still accessible. Maybe it’s because my server is running on IIS and wp is in subdomain. Any ideas how I can fix that?
    thanks!

    Hi,

you absolutely correct. This is a result of the configuration of “Site URL” and “WordPress URL”. The DataTables library (which offers the search/sorting/…) needs to make an AJAX request, to get its language file. This request goes to the www-domain because that’s how WordPress is configured. However, when this is done from the non-www-domain, the browser blocks the request, due to a breach of the “Same origin policy”.

The only way to fix this is to decide on whether you want to use the “www” or not, and then always redirect the other domain to it. I’m not familiar with IIS, but there should be a way to do this in the web.config file. You might want to contact your webhost company for assistance.

    Regards,
    Tobias
