[Plugin: WP-Table Reloaded] Sorting only shows for logged-in visitors

thanks for your post.

This seems to be a problem with your theme. The JavaScript file for sorting is not loaded for some reason, but I don’t really know why.

Can you try again with the WordPress Default Theme (TwentyEleven)? Does the functionality work there?

Thanks for the speedy reply. I’ve tried it with the default theme but the same problem applies – sorting isn’t enabled for visitors who aren’t logged in, but if you log in you can see the sorting.

ok, thanks for checking that.

The problem is that the necessary JavaScript file is not loaded, but I have no idea why… I have never seen this before like this, because it is just the file that is missing. The call to the function is there…

Are you maybe using some sort of caching? That might have to do with it. Because for logged-in users, the cache is normally not used, but only for logged-out users.
Can you maybe clear/refresh the cache?

You’re right – it was the cacheing causing the issue. Disabling the cacheing plugin has fixed the issue although obviously I’m now without any cacheing functionality on the site! Not your issue though.

Good that this makes the sorting work, but yeah, unsatisfying that the caching doesn’t…
Now, unfortunately, I’m not familiar with caching plugins, so I don’t know what might be the reason for the plugin to prevent the script file from being added. Maybe there is a setting or option for this?
