• Hello,

first of all I want to say that this a is really nice idea for an plugin. It will helps a lot. And the upcomming “Cronjobs” will be a killer feature.

    But:
I set it up and run on PHP 5.2.11. The files are created on my server and stored under wp-content. If I have understood everything correctly, it should be loaded from there to the drop box and then be deleted. Both does not work.

I’ve used my drop box and e-mail and password were correct. Doubble and triple checked. Then I set up a new Dropbox – even for security reasons I wanted to do this. But even with this drop box will not do.

Is this a known problem? What’s the problem?

    Sebastian

    Hello,
I’m another one very interested in this module. It looks great, but doesn’t work too. I’m using WP 3.0.1 and Time Machine 1.9.11. My hosting provider is 000webhosting.com. It’s not the best, but it’s free and support cURLs. I tried in the local testing server with no luck, but after reading here that might fail with local servers, I tried on the live one, with the same problem: not files on Dropbox, and even no log file generated by the plugin! (If I click on “View Log”in the plugin dashboard, I get a “Broken link” error. It’s interesting that I don’t get the WordPress error page, only my browser’s error message (Google Chrome).

    Paul

    Hi there,

I have had the plug in working a couple of times, but not in the last four or five updates. I have reset the dropbox password and double checked this. I was never able to use the directory field. I created a dropbox folder called backups, only ever backup to the top level of the dropbox.

It was brilliant when it worked and I actually used an archive to restore a site in a real life data corruption incident.

    Hi Paul,

I’d like to say that this wonderful idea is a working plugin, but not for me ??
Whatever the compression mode, whatever the offsite choice, the process stops at exactly the same point.

    Here is the log :

    Thanks for your help !

    Hi,
I moved to another hosting from 000webhost to another paid one, because after testing, I discovered that many problems I was having with WordPress were caused by a poor server setup at 000webhost (or maybe lack of useful features). I tried my website in x10hosting with exactly the same setup, files and plugins, and there everything works fine (even WP Time Machine). I’m more than happy now!!

Thank you for a very interesting plugin!

I have the same problem : no upload to dropbox

I guess that the problem comes from the max_execution_time parameter of php which depends of the host.

My problem occured a with a rather loaded web site.

I am on dreamhost and non upload on dropbox:

The Dropbox problems, could it be that your files are larger than the 300MB dropbox limit?

@beer: No! I tested without cache an I should be about 19 mb.

I just gave wp-time-machine a new try, but with the same results.

    Anything new about this?

Working at last with .16 !

lucky! I can’t figure out what’s halting this. I did a fresh WP install, and installed the Time Machine plugin, nothing else. Worked perfectly. On the blog I actually want to back up that’s been running for almost 2 years…nope…looks like it happens, generates similar logs to those above…but nothing on the dropbox end. Archive created that since in the wp-content folder is under 300mb

does anyone have even a direction to look in for troubleshooting this? i’m not afraid to poke around in the php files…i just no idea where to look, the log reports nothing…just doesn’t kick in and transfer to dropbox.

how about this, anyone reading this successfully getting this to work with archives over 100mb?

I just installed version 1.9.16 on my wp site. How do I get it to sync/connect with a Dropbox account? Is there a place I’m supposed to add my Dropbox user info?

I’m not a programmer so I have no idea if there’s something in the code I’m supposed to look for.

    Thx
