[Plugin: WP to Twitter] Support for WP.me shortlinks?

In WordPress 3 there’s a new (I think) feature where you can get a Shortlink for your post through WordPress by clicking a button at the top of the Edit Post screen. The link looks like this, which looks pretty good to me: https://wp.me/pW5E2-sU
Could a future version of WP to Twitter support this feature, so I don’t have to use Bit.ly or the others on the list?
