    Let me start by appologizing if what i’m about to say seems unpleasant in any way it is not meant to be, just expressing my grief. Also this is a frustrated request not a demand of any kind. That said I would like to say that I am so sick to death of video plugins that allow me to embed video from other sites like youtube, dailymotion, blah blah blah blah blah,

    What I need is a plugin that will allow my users to create video posts from the frontend of my site those videos uploaded to my dedicated server with a player automatically embeded in the page ready to play that video. I would also like to be able to choose which player will be used to display the video proplayer, flowplayer, etc, etc, etc. I do not want to rely on youtube , vimeo, dailymotion or anyone else to supply my site with it’s content. I want my own site with it’s own content independant from youtube facebook and all those other big greedy corporate sites. If you see a video on my site it’s because one of my users uploaded it to my server, not because it was embeded from another site.

    Your plugin allows my users to create a post and upload a picture to that post, the picture then displays on the post just like I created the post myself great that’s good. Why when the user creates a post and uploads a video all I get is a usless download link? When a video post is created myself (and I am quite certain many many many others) would like it to display a video post with a player automatically inserted into the post (proplayer, flowplayer, etc) and ready to play the video on the page on my dedicated server. I should also be able to choose which file formats are allowed and which are not allowed and be able to add additional formats to the allow/disallow list.

    Someone in a post I read somewhere was looking for just such a plugin. Another person suggested to the person that was trying to find the plugin that he should have his users upload the videos to youtube then give him the link so he can post it on his site. What an utterly useless solution to that persons request. If the users upload the videos to youtube, then what do they need him for? Please Please Please make thousands upon thousands of wordpress webmasters happy and add this much much desired function to your almost perfect frontend posting plugin.

    If I had the skills to code such a plugin myself I would have done so already, but I have not. It seems like everyone making the plugins are intentionally leaving this function out on purpose as it is obviously a highly desirable function yet several plugins seem get you very very close to this function then suddenly let you down. If you could please make this happen there are a many number of people that would love you forever, But not in a weird way ofcourse!

    PS. Personally myself I would prefer proplayer as the default player but without losing any of proplayer’s options with option to choose other players.

    Hi blackmantis, Thanks for thi BIG topic.

    Not every plugin is suitable for everyone. The features of this plugin is generic and that applies to everyone. I just CAN’T please everyone with tons of options. Everyone thinks to use this plugin in different ways. For that it needs some customization.

    It’s a free plugin and I’ve invested a great amount of time to code this. I just can’t imagine someone yelling at me at asking why the hell this simple feature is not in the plugin? Thats not desirable. You should know that this plugin is opensource and I don’t get paid for what I do.

    I’m sorry maybe you did not read all of my post. The first thing I said before I started was

    At no point did I say or ask “why the hell this simple feature is not in the plugin”. I was simply expressing my frustration that no plugins that I could locate on the net free or paid seem to provided this simple function in an adequate way.

    I am well aware that this is opensource I was not demanding that you do this I was requesting that you do this.

    Also I understand that you do not get paid for this but I am certain that many people would be willing to pay for the plugin that I suggested. I searched the net for one free or paid if I had found one suitable at a resonable price I most certainly would have considered purchasing it.

    As I said, every plugin is generic. They don’t provide solution that some small groups of customers will need. I think you need custom modifications for your requirements.
