Hi, first of all, excellent plugin! Simple and effective.

Now the problem I’m having is that when a user visits the create-a-post page, he is able to see the default “Upload/insert” option along with the file attachment I have it set to show.

I don’t mind the user using that feature but they have access to my Media Library that way, which I don’t want.

I went through all of the post in this forum but none has a similar problem. I’m starting to think the problem is only unique to me, hence, I’m doing something wrong!

Thanks in advance, keep up the wonderful work!

  • Please check the post form with different user level, like subscriber, contributor, author, editor and let me know the results ??

You might want to test the latest development version from github too which have some improvements and new features.

Hi Tareq, thanks for your response.

You’re hunch was right, only the Admin and Editor are able to see the this option. Author is able to see the link and open it but then it shows the user profile, indicating this role doesn’t have the permission to view media library or upload using this option.

The Contributor and Subscriber aren’t able to view the link at all, which is my solution. I set my users to contributors.

Thanks for the help and for the github version, I updated it and it’s great.

I have a couple of minor questions, i’ll create a new post.

I have the opposite problem: I want to give people to the default Media Uploader (esp now that it was improved in 3.5) but now the attachment and featured image uploaders select files directly instead of loading the uploader.

I’ve seen it done with the Events+ plugin by WPMUDEV with front end posting enabled. If I could grab the call function to media uploader from there, where would I look in this plugin to try paste it (ie, does anyone know where the code for “new post” and “edit” templates are?
