Love this plugin, but would really like to see exactly the same but for text links.

Also, option of adding nofollow to each link (Google guidelines on selling text links etc) would be good.

What do you think? I am sure it would be easy to do. I am tempted to look at the plugin files and see if I can hack it myself, but it really is not my area of expertise!

  • I don’t really have the time to manage *another* plugin at this point. However, it shouldn’t be *too* hard for you to hack it. The write_ads function in wp125.php is the one that writes all of the ads out. (Sorry it’s not indented properly!) Just remove the bits that put the image tags in and you should be good.

OK. One thing – If I create a text one, I assume that I need to change the database files so that a new table is created?

I have found by accident, that simply not having an image stored creates a text link, so not actually anything to do there. But I guess simply renaming the plugin wp125-text is not enough, if I am also running wp125 with image ads.

You’ll probably need to search and replace “wp125_ads” with “wp125_text_ads” (in each file) or something of the sort to replace all mentions to the WP125 database table.
