Have you generated and stored an access token successfully?

What does your WPBook Lite settings page say about access tokens and permissions?

Does your Facebook Application have the “Deprecate offline_access” enabled? It must be disabled for the application to work.

Deprecate_offline_access seams to be deprecated, or can it be “Remove offline_access permission” on May 6th 2012?

@volkerhett Yes, offline_access is going away.

Per https://developers.facebook.com/roadmap/ –

The offline_access permission is deprecated and will be removed July 5, 2012. Until then, you can turn this change on or off using the “Remove offline_access permission” migration. On May 2, 2012, we will automatically turn the migration to “enabled” for all apps. If this breaks your app, you can turn the migration back to “disabled” until July 5, 2012 when it will be permanently “enabled” for all apps. Please see the Removal of offline_access Permission doc for more details.

I guess this means that they have changed yet again, from “Deprecate offline_access” to “Remove offline_access”

In order for WPBook (and WPBook Lite) to work in their current codebases, you must have offline_access available, so “Remove offline_access” must be set to disabled, I believe.

Update – WPBook Lite 1.4 and WPBook 2.5.2 now work with “Deprecate Offline_access” enabled – they no longer rely on the offline_access permission

I am getting this when posting to group Caught exception publishing to group as Post: (#210) User not visibleError code: 0

@promitech Are you sure it is a group you are posting to? What’s the ID?

Does the group allow members to post?

Is your personal facebook profile (the one who’s ID is being used to get an access token) able to post on the wall of the group?

Generally this error occurs because the user you are posting as (the profile ID in wpbook settings) does not have permission to post on the wall to which you’re trying to post (the group ID).

I don’t think that’s the right ID.

Check https://graph.facebook.com/259467477486361 – that tells me that an access token is required to see the group, meaning it is private.

But https://www.facebook.com/groups/rockawaybeach/ is not a private group.

The ID for that group seems to be 152434154889645

Maybe the other ID is actually her personal profile ID?

I changed the group number to 152434154889645

this is the wp site it also has the FB widget on the side I will turn off when yours is all set. rockawaybeach.me and you know the group.

just made a post on WP 3:16 and its not on the group.

made one on group and not on WP.

Just to be clear, when you are setting this up in WordPress, you want to use her personal FB ID, 100002693320933, in the spot marked “YOUR Facebook Profile ID”

After setting the ID, you will need to grant permissions for that ID to get an appropriate access token.

You want to put the ID of the group in the “Group ID” field which is revealed when you check “Publish new posts to the wall of this page/group:”

If you then also enable debugging and try to post new posts, you should either see them on the group wall or see entries in the debug log.

When you make posts in the group in Facebook, they will not be imported into WordPress – that is not a feature of any plugin I know.

When you make posts in WordPress, and posts excerpts from those posts onto a wall in Facebook, comments made (in Facebook) against those excerpts will be imported into WordPress.

In other words, comments are imported from Facebook for posts originating in WPBook Lite.

Post originating in Facebook are not imported to WordPress.

I just looked again, and thats the way it is set up, and I turned on debug not sure how to use it? I posted on WP and no show on FB.

I would be happy to send screen shot of settings or give admin access.

When you enable debug, wpbook-lite will create a debug file inside the plugin directory, and write information there as you create and publish posts.

Importing group posts from Facebook into WordPress is not high on my list of features for the project – it’s really designed to cross-post out from WordPress.

Of course, it’s an open source plugin so anyone who wanted to do could code that and contribute it.

@promitech – have you granted new permissions since you changed the groupID and personal profile ID?

When you visit your wpbook lite settings page, does it say it has successfully stored an access token?

Have you enabled “show errors posting to Facebook stream” AND “Enable WPBook to create a debug file”?

Are you looking in wp-content/plugins/wpbook-lite/ for a debug file?

I don’t do paid development on wpbook. You’re welcome to donate at wpbook.net, but that won’t get the feature you’re looking for.

But you don’t need me to do it – you can hire any WordPress savvy PHP developer to do it.
