What do you mean when you say “The FB check site” – you mean the check permissions page you get to by clicking the link in the WPBook settings?

What is the URL of your facebook application?

The error you refer to is a Facebook error not a WPBook error, but it generally means you’ve configured something wrong either in the Facebook Application settings or in the WPBook settings.

Thanks so much for the reply. Yes, there was something wrong with my FB ID and I fixed it and got all the permissions now. Thanks. What is not clear to me, though, is what exactly WPB can do except for publishing posts to FB. I haven’t seen (yet) that comments migrate from FB to WP (and the other way around). I had Facebook Comments plugin before WPB. It works fine and comments on the blog in FB comment boxes are also viewed on FB. This is missing in WPB. I frankly though if that is all, that could be done easier with a smaller plugin like Facebook Comment. Frankly I was hoping WPB would give my blog a FB look (such as the activity box at the top of the blog, where you can for example put a link (with image, summary and hyperlink) and that it is also shared on FB and stays on the blog or so. Maybe I have to find out what else WPB can do.

Sorry for bothering. two questions: My WPBook FB App site shows only titles and nothing else. How do I get it be like yours (title, text, share etc. buttons, comments). Can I directly post from the FB apps page? Can I add SEARCH and ARCHIVES functionality to it? Best regards, Cheshmandaz

Can you point us to your WPBook App?

As to why your site shows only titles – do you use post excerpts? Are you doing something with custom post types?

Archives should be there if you enable pages in your WPBook settings – on my blog (apps.facebook.com/openparenthesis/) and click on a ‘tag’ or a category under a blog post title, that takes you to the archive for that tag or category.

Search I have not tried, but should be ok.

The way WPBook works is by swapping in a different theme when you’re inside FB – that theme is in plugins/wpbook/theme/ and you can edit it like any other theme – so you could put your search box in the theme and it should work, though honestly I haven’t tried it.

No, you can’t post directly from the FB Apps page, really, though if you add /wp-admin/ to your apps url, you can login to the dashboard inside fb. Not sure why you’d want to.

    John, thanks so much.

I trust ARCHIVES are not under pages, are they? I was wondering if Archives per se is possible to have – like going back to Feb 10.

PAGES are enabled. I have there two pages, CONTACT and ABOUT, but they don’t open. They take me to the front site of the WP App.

Honestly, I didn’t get how to put Search on the site. If it’s by going to the code (php etc.), you understand that tech dummies like me would not dare to do it.

I was just wondering about posting because posting is always so easy through FB techniques, especially sharing a link, video or so.

Also, excerpts don’t show, just titles. Went through settings and couldn’t find out how to get excerpts (or full content) in.

Having all those features would give the whole thing a completely different look, a real mix of a FB profile/page and a good blog.

Not sure why you are only getting titles – there is no setting for that, and the wpbook theme is just outputing a standard list of posts.

Does your theme do something unusual with post content?

I suppose it may be language related?

Or it may have to do with custom post types- are your posts something other than default posts?

Yes, showing search would require coding.

    Thanks,

I don’t think it’s the language. I tried out with English. Same. I usually use post type Standard, the default one, and occasionally Aside or Status. But so far, I am receiving only titles. I think I have to continue publishing and watching.
