    hi,

i noticed that the actual download link to the file i’m hosting with
wpLike2Get is visible in the page source code. this is bad because folks can bypass the plugin & just download the file directly.

is there a way to hide this completely?

also, is there a way to obfuscate the link or randomize the url to the file so it cannot be shared? if you know of another plugin that can do this part, please let me know what you might recommend.

    thank you!

    Hey,

you have to ways to input the download link to your post.

1: insert a download from the media uploader, than the link is hidden in the source.
2: Insert your link between the shortcodes. Than the link is visible in the source.

    Use the first way.

ok, thank you! i was manually adding the link between the shortcodes, which is why it was showing as you mentioned.

i wound up using this solution which seems to be working well.

PHP: Hide the Real File URL and Provide Download via a PHP Script

And added the link to my php file in between the shortcodes.

i’ll keep what you mentioned about using a link to the media uploader for the future.

thanks again for all your help!
