I already solved this problem by this disabling the analytics tracking.

Another problem showed up: Facebook likes are granting access to the download, but on facebook the page is not liked and on my personal facebook profile there’s no message posted. Could this be because I stopped liking before, because I remember it worked before…

I entered the facebook app id and the profile id too. There’s no secret key needed for the app?

yes, maybe. Test with another url, than you will see.

BTW: i can see there’s 2 likes now on the webpage, but the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Seocialist/233866340074749 is not liked by you or me.

I entered the id 233866340074749 in the settings and also entered the app id which is working fine with many other plugins.

Any idea what’s wrong here?

You can’t like your facebook page. If you like the facebook page, the user have the ability to like only one time on you hole site. This means a user who liked your page before, is not able to get your download before removing the like. The app id is only for “Insight” usage.

Okay i see, but how come there’s no message on my facebook account at all that i liked this particular page?

I don’t know. I tested it and I get the info about the like (on the right side of my facebook profile page, not in the timeline). And if I click the button “post to facebook”, I get an entry in meine timeline.

Okay, well, it’s working then i guess. May it’s not working for my account because I stopped liking before.
Besides that it’s strange that likes do not show up in the timeline, which makes them a lot less effici?nt.

It’s still a great plugin! May be you can fix these two issues in an update later?

I tested it a while ago and I had no problems after stopping my likes. Please test the Plugin on another subpage, dann you can like again and you can see if it is showing on you timeline.

Okay I tested everything again and it appeared things weren’t working fine because of a caching plugin. It works great now! For people experiencing similar problems in the future: Flush all caches before testing, always, after every change in the settings you made ??

@markus: I got one feature request. Right now, when a visitor recommends a page on fb, the hidden content is already shown when the fb comment/post box opens, right after clicking the button. Especially for recommendation this is very bad, because people won’t even post something to fb anymore if they see the content appear already after clicking the “recommend” button. This is the same for the like button, except then there is at least a like registered, but people will never post something after they see the content appear already.
So, my request is: Can you change this, so content appears AFTER someone POSTS TO FB OR CLOSES the comment/post box, in other words after someone clicks post to fb or close button and not after they click the like/recommend button?

Facebook have no event for this. I can only subscribe for the like itself and the unlike. Sorry. Please complain to Mark ??

I thought that may be clicking was the trigger to unhide content and that that trigger could be changed to clicking the post/close button. Unfortunately it can’t then.
