  • for me this plugin have the flaw that cant be hardcoded into a theme. My theme doesnt support widgets

Yes, the version he is working on is based on shortcode. Okay, we will move ahead then… Thanks!

Updated the plugin to have a shortcode, as well as working on all themes.

Whoo hoo! Will check it out…

I installed it using the Plugin search and download and it won’t activate. I tried it on two different WP sites and got the same results.

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/mysite/public_html/mysite.com/site/wp-content/plugins/wptextresizecontrols/init.php on line 42

Fixed that, new version should be up in a few minutes, sorry!

Yes it did install this time ??

But I’m having some problems with it… See this test page: https://screwusandwemultiply.net/test/ I have a Nivo slider on this page and all that is on the page is the following two shortcodes:

    [wpResize]

    [nivoslider slug="dorli-images"]

Your resizer is wrapping around Nivo. When I remove Nivo, the resizer is by itself but when I click, nothing happens.

Additionally, I have tried the shortcode in a text widget and the resizer does not display in the sidebar.

You have it “float:right” which I think is why it is moving things around on the page.

I pushed an update to fix the div wrapping and float problems. I’m not 100% why the controls aren’t resizing, it looks like the javascript isnt being found, which means it may not installed correctly. I’d say try again with the update I just pushed, and hope for the best!

I reinstalled. You can see the results. Clicking buttons still doesn’t work. Text widget still doesn’t display. https://screwusandwemultiply.net/test/

I’m going to close down for the night. I’ll help you more tomorrow.

And hey… Thanks so much for doing this! My coder and I have been working on ours but it’s not calling the js properly. Between the two of us, one of us will get this working!! lol

Pushed more changes to hopefully get the js working for you. it works on all my test sites and dev installs.

And I’m glad to help, I love the community, and I’m glad you can find use from it!
