[Plugin: WPtouch] ShareThis and WPTouch

    I’ve got the latest versions of WPTouch, WP, and ShareThis.

    What I don’t have are the ShareThis buttons showing up when viewing the WPTouch mobile version. The buttons are there and work fine for the full site version.

    I’ve enabled Restricted Mode, as the WPTouch plugin settings suggest, but still no ShareThis buttons.

    Any ideas how to get these to appear? Is there some code I need to add into the WPTouch settings?

  • I think we filter out the share this plugin from showing on mobile. WPtouch includes its own sharing functions, however.

    That’s odd since your instructions for getting ShareThis to work are included in the settings (you say to enable restricted mode).

    The sharing functions on WPTouch aren’t much to write home about. There’s a button that vaguely looks like a bird that I think few people would associate with Twitter. People are looking for the standard buttons they are used to seeing everywhere.

    Hello @jonmirch, I am totally onboard with you here. I too am looking for a plugin that will help me share it via social media. I hope wordpress comes up with a solution for this. If you do find something to resolve this issue, please do share it here.

    That’s odd since your instructions for getting ShareThis to work are included in the settings (you say to enable restricted mode).

    Enabling restricted mode will actually attempt to disable ShareThis and other problematic plugins.

    However, testing the latest version of WPtouch ( 1.9.37) and the latest version of ShareThis – https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/share-this/ I see the share options after the content in each post and they seem to be working as expected.

    Please try disabling “Restricted Mode” and see if that helps.
