[Plugin: Yet Another Related Posts Plugin] can YARPP crash my database?

  • im currently on 3.0.2 but upgraded from a version 2. anyway, from time to time my blog keeps going back to the install page (even in the old version of YARPP) and i had to repair my db to fix that problem.

    aside from problems with the wp_options, i also got a problem with yarpp.
    calv10_calvinshub.wp_yarpp_related_cache
    warning : Number of rows changed from 1900 to 1896
    status : OK

    anybody else experiencing the same problem as i am?

  • @dyords – what problems are you having with wp_options? YARPP only uses the built in wordpress methods of get_option and update_option so it seems highly unlikely that YARPP would mess up your wp_options table.

    As for the wp_yarpp_related_cache, the number of rows in this table will naturally change with the changing caching state, but where did you get that diagnostic? What is the problem? I apologize but it’s unclear to me.

    sorry, im trying to find out why my wp_option keeps crashing every few days. when it does, my site redirects to install.php.

    so when i repaired my db in cpanel, it repaired wp_options and wp_yarpp. if my table crashes again ill check if wp_yarpp is still involved.

    If you disactivate YARPP does it continue to crash every few days? That seems like a better check…
